CONS Rune Pro Mid – Fall 2010 Colorways

Rune Glifberg will go down as one of the greatest skaters of all time and one of the few to reach the peak of both street and vert excellence. It was a quiet coup when Converse Skateboarding signed Glifberg last year, with Rune’s new sneaker sponsor largely overshadowed by Eric Koston’s move to Nike SB. Here’s the first shot back from CONS, the Rune Pro Mid, which is somewhere between the Cooldige Mid and the Weapon series. New pairs in black or white, blue and red both mix canvas and suede skillfully and you can see more shots of both after the jump.

Converse Chuck Taylor – Nike Parent Company Promo Sample

If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. Nike’s rise to top meant its competitors would fall to its knees, but instead, the brands still exist under Nike ownership. Now operating as subsidiaries of Nike, brands like Converse, Hurley, Starter, Bauer Hockey, and others still pump out their own products while maintaining its original identity. This promo sample pair of Converse Chuck Taylors from 2005 features all of the aforementioned brands stamped on the upper of the shoe, representing unity among the brands (although we know Nike is top dog). Some of Converse’s best releases in recent memory have come in the form of the flight jacket-inspired UNDFTD collaborations. The Poorman Weapon made a name for itself with the sleek, shiny look and now it’s time for the biggest of the One Stars to get a nylon treatment. Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Cup Sole – Fall 2010

Ronnie Fieg recently showed off a duo of Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Highs that looked amazing in grey and black leather with white soles. The spirit of those axed sample pairs is resurrected for this new pack of Converse Chuck Taylor Cup Sole hightops on tap for Fall 2010. Both grey and black pairs are done in rich leather, but forgo the embossed insignias found on Feig’s joints for a more traditional sewn on medial logo. The biggest change, though, would be the all-white cupsoles that should make these an even smoother ride than your average Chucks. Converse Black Flag CVO Low + Mid

The casual-friendly Converse CVO is arriving in two great colorways – one for each cut. Part of the Black Flag Collection, the Converse CVO Low and Mid feature the classic silhouette born in the ’60’s with supple suede uppers; the low features a navy upper with a red midsole rim while the mid sports a two-toned grey/black colorway. Like the Converse Black Flag June Releases we showed you, these CVO fits the bill for the deck – skate and boat. Converse Jack Purcell – Johnny Collection

The Converse Jack Purcell offers a more luxurious style, opposed to the punk-rock motif usually attributed to the Chuck Taylor. The Johnny Collection featured a revampd upper construction with two great colorways; a beige with a cream-midsole colorway comes in a mid and low, while a second brown is available in a low. All three pairs are constructed in canvas and are available at Converse for $85 (high) and $80 (low). You can also expect these at Jack Purcell accounts soon.

Converse All-Star Suede x Psycho – Laser

Converse collaborates Japanese artist Psycho on this dope Converse All-Star that uses a bit of Nike technology, this All-Star Suede High comes equipped with various laser engravings that make it stand out amongst any other All-Star. This shoe is believed to be a part of Converse’s ongoing 100th Anniversary. The materials used for this particular shoe are better than your average All-Star from the fat black laces to the leather tongue and of course as we have already noted the completely lasered suede upper. These shoes are available now at select Converse retailers.

The Who British Flag Converse

That's right Converse will be making a new Chuck Taylor inspired by The Who. This time they the British Flag shoe will be stitched. They hit shelves in July 2010.

Converse x Kurt Cobain Spring 2010 Sneaker

A look that transmutes recent fashion trends into the dominant pattern during the grunge era. Both say ‘punk rock means freedom’ on the lower side panels, a phrase that also appears on a simple black hightop pair of Chucks.

Invoking the spirit of Kurt Cobain Converse will introduce four new sneakers into their Kurt Cobain Music Series Collection. The releases will consist of two Chuck Taylor Hi’s and two Chuck Taylor Lo’s.

A grey/black plaid pattern is applied to a pair of Lo’s and a pair of Hi’s with “Punk Rock Means Freedom” printed in black just above the sole unit. The other two sneakers sport unique designs from either with the Lo’s featuring a white upper with some sort of graphic included along the ankle and the other pair of Hi’s having a black finish with “Punk Rock Means Freedom” printed in white along the base of the upper.In fact, if pretty much any other company else made these, anyone old enough would pull an instructive SMH in the direction of the young heads.

Converse anticipates 2010 and welcomes it with a collection

Chinese fashion has been influencing several designs in fashion starting from hair dresses up to the simplest accessories. And before 2009 ends, Converse has a Chinese-inspired collection which incorporates the designs and colors of the upcoming 2010 which is said to be the Year of the Tiger according to the Chinese calendar.

Since this is a Chinese Converse shoe, expect that the dominant color is red – a lucky color for the Chinese. Aside from the tiger patterns and black/red streaks on the shoes there are also Chinese characters and Chinese calligraphy as well.

There are four colors that part of the Converse Year of the Tiger collection. Fans of the Chuck Taylor will think of this as a must-have especially if they can pull of the color red.

No news yet about the specific date or release of the Converse Year of the Tiger collection. But I hope that these shoes will be out in the market just in time for the 2010 Chinese New Year.

Converse Checked Chuck Taylor All Stars Madras

Among all Converse models, the Chuck Taylor All Star may be the most successful because of the many releases that they have made during the past years. Now, they are once again presenting us with another version of this model calling it as the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Madras.

This Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Madras is available in two color ways in Hi and Low top style. The first color way includes a tan upper than includes red accents on the outsole and checked detailing on the back and insole lining highlighted in red.

The second color way comes in white color way with blue accents on the outsole and on the checked insole and back area as well. These sneakers also include silver accent found on the shoelace eyelets. All of these are also made with a madras material combined with the white rubber outsole with black stripe accent. These Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Madras Sneakers are now available worldwide through Converse outlets and selected online stores.

Pro Leather Skate Two Ox Sneakers in Chocolate Pack

Converse has released new pairs of Converse sneakers that they are presenting to us in pack. This pack is called as the Converse Skateboarding Chocolate Pack and for today, they are introducing versions Pro Leather Skate 2 Ox that composes the pack.

This Converse Skateboarding Chocolate Pack includes two modified versions of the Pro Leather Skate 2 Ox which they have created with different materials but with the same color way to match the pack’s theme. The first version of this model is made of made of premium leather that composes the entire upper. This material is combined with touches of suede on front, side, and back area.

The only accents on this pair are found on the green highlights on the tongue and Cons print on the back area. The second version of the Pro Leather Skate 2 Ox is created by using a suede material on the entire upper with accent of yellow on the tongue. Both of these versions are highlighted with chocolate brown color way matching the theme of the pack.

These Pro Leather Skate 2 Ox sneakers are now available at Converse outlets and online stores. Expect them as well to release new models from the same pack.

SSUR x CONVERSE Pro Leather 76 Hi | Detailed Look

Like everything he does, artist Ruslan Karablin likes to be low key about it. Better known as SSUR, Karablin might be the last few bastions who propagate the true conviction of what street art is. It isn’t about self-promotion or the fame plus fortune, which usually follow. Instead, it is a pure of self-expression, or to raise the volume on social grievances mainstream media deemed unimportant. And though the neighborhood, the art, the culture, and etc…have all changed. SSUR was one who stayed the course through the thick and thin the past 15 years. In honor of that unyielding spirit, footwear label CONVERSE designed a special Pro Leather 1976 Model for the artist, set to release this weekend.

This SSUR x CONVERSE Pro Leather 76 Hi is a throwback to the urban street ball classic that first appeared in 1976. Known as Russ to his friends, the collaborative Pro Leather 76 Hi is in tonal black colorway, a signature theme of SSUR. A handsome appointment of premium suede upper with perforated Star Chevron, CONVERSE’s classic logo. A hint of its eminence from other CONVERSE sneakers, a metallic gold lace tab in the form of a shark tooth dominated the visual presence on the sneaker’s front while a gold embossed skull and cross bones, another SSUR signature, occupied the heel tabs on the back.

Like previous collaborations, CONVERSE will put out a limited number of pairs to select retailers, such as UNDFTD and SSUR’s own store around SoHo NYC. Set to release tomorrow, August 20th.

John Varvatos’ collaborations with Converse have resulted in some of the highest quality One Star kicks you could ever hope to lace up. These new pairs of Converse Star Player hightops are right up there with the very best Nike Blazer VNTG releases, mixing in a pre-loved sole look with ultra-premium muted suede uppers.
