Okay, we have to get this out of the way first.
WHO THE HELL POSES BY OPENING UP HER SKIRT SO YOU CAN SEE HER LEGS? How freaking tacky and nakedly attention-seeking is that? Plus, you're basically saying that the dress isn't enough. Or you're saying that you have low self esteem and desperately need to show off your body. But who are we to judge.
Oh, right. We're T Lo.
Well., let's get our T Lo on. There's a rumor that she doesn't employ a stylist. This is illustrated by her rather unimaginative styling. She essentially recreated the runway look, right down to the shoes (which we'll get to in a minute). We really like this dress but we're a sucker for a camel/grey color combo. The leather accent on the dress is interesting from a design perspective, but considering how it bows out depending on her position, we're thinking it's not the most practical design element.
About those shoes. Much like too-skinny models and photoshopping, the fact that so many modern shoes are a podiatrist's wet dream is not something we tend to spend too much time on here. Not because these aren't issues worthy of discussing, but because it seems like EVERYONE immediately defaults to it instead of looking at the beauty and design skill on display in fashion. We'd never discourage a discussion on painful shoes (move two comment sections to the right for an illustration) but it's not a topic we tend to want to bring up ourselves.
Having said that, these shoes are freaking ridiculous. Sure, they're kind of fierce (if a little heavy for our tastes), but she's practically being forced to stand en pointe in those things.
Despite the bitchiness, we think it's an overall good look. She gets points for being an early adopter of the Spring '11 collections, even if the styling wasn't all that exciting. She gets an IN, with some reservations.
