This is a really spectacular dress and we were wondering why it took so long to make the inevitable RC appearance. Really, any gal in this dress gets an automatic IN. It would take some major fuckups to ruin this look. Fortunately for Rachel, she only made minor ones. Opinions may vary on this, but we don't think that lipstick shade is the correct one. When you've transformed yourself into a striking column of red, then your choice of lipstick is very important. You don't want to match the red exactly, but you also don't want to choose a red that makes you look like your lips are floating in front of your face. We're not entirely sure what shade would be perfect for this dress but we do know that this isn't the right one. In the long shots, all we can see are her lips. It's distracting. We're also not loving the hair. Too... what's the word? Blowsy? It's kind of an aging up 'do and it looks "end of the night" rather than "just arrived."
But she's still an IN because the dress looks amazing on her and because she's adorable and we've had a fondness for her ever since a reader tipped us off to
Slings & Arrows, the first season of which featured her, pre-fame. She was utterly charming. In fact, we're wondering why she hasn't had a bigger career. Too bland for the public? Bad choices?
