It's amazing how a bad hair day coupled with a shitty dress can make an ingenue look like the hostess at an airport lounge in one fell swoop. This is bad, kittens. Carey's struggles with her pixie cut as it grows out should serve as a public service announcement to all those women considering getting one. She should do a "Don't let this happen to you," Scared Straight kind of video. Then again, Carey's rich and she's got access to some of the best hairstylists in the world, so there's really no excuse for this 1974 'do.

As for the dress, we keep looking at it and looking at it, trying to figure out why it's going so wrong. We're going to have to go with the basic "shitty dress" explanation. We like the print and there's nothing wrong in theory with the style, but it looks like it doesn't fit her correctly and it doesn't offer much room for jewelry, which means she's just a column of wrinkly, shiny fabric that looks a little like a picture from the Hubble telescope. She should have worn a big brooch shaped like the Starship Enterprise.

So, yes. OUT. We would have thought that was obvious by now. Poor girl. We all have bad days, honey. The good news is, now you can go and fire everyone responsible for this. Pull a diva move. Cocktail glasses in the fireplace, running mascara, "You'll never work in this town again," the works. It's cleansing. Try it some time.
