President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama pretend to sing with an a capella group in the Diplomatic Reception Room of the White House during a holiday reception.
We don't exactly know why, but after a several-year sabbatical, we've turned into total Christmas Queens this year. The reason we're telling you this is to take the sting off the following embarrassing fact: We sat and watched HGTV's "Christmas at the White House" with Genevieve Gorder (whom Tom adores and Lorenzo abhors) last week and we cant stop re-watching it. We loved all the behind-the-scenes details on the massive undertaking of decorating the White House for the holidays and the end results really are stunning. But what made it extra enjoyable (because we're weird that way) were the various scenes depicting Michelle going about her holiday duties wearing the dresses we've been talking about all month here on the blog. She's been pulling out the stops this season, unveiling one fantastic holiday look after another, with a special emphasis on the shiny and the metallic, which both suit her.

And come on, it's pretty fabulous that she's wearing Marc Jacobs, who's not exactly known for producing staid, politician's wife uniforms.
